Wednesday Bus Trips *Suspended*
Following a review of its viability, the Innisfail Community Bus’s weekly service to Red Deer has been suspended. The service was found to be financially unsustainable in its current state. Town staff will now work toward a more viable option for the provision of out-of-town transportation.
“While it’s unfortunate to see, the suspension of the weekly bus service opens up the opportunity to explore other, perhaps more convenient options for out-of-town transportation,” said Karen Bradbury, the town’s community and social development co-ordinator. “Ultimately, we’ll be seeking a solution that’s not just more financially sustainable, but which also meets the immediate and varied needs of our community.”
Town staff will work extensively with residents to come up with a viable alternative solution to the suspended service. Updates on the matter will be shared as they become available.
