Fun for all ages and groups! Come and experience all that the Innisfail Aquatic Centre has to offer. Visitors and residents of Innisfail can cool off, get in shape, or just have fun using our pool, hot tub, and sauna. Don't forget that our spray park opens up in the summer too!
The Innisfail Aquatic Centre is a 6 lane, 25-metre swimming pool which is kept between 83 and 84 degrees. Our pool hosts a beach entrance wading area that allows easy access to the main pool. Have fun with the great amenities our facility offers including but not limited to the rope swing, climbing wall, and plank. Of course no pool is complete without a slide; ours is accompanied by a tyke slides and small plank for the little adventurer in your group.

Swim Lesson Survival Guide
The following tips are some guidelines and recommendations to help you and your child have a positive swim lesson experience.
SWIM LEVEL EVALUATION
Are you wondering which lesson level to register you or your child in? Call the Aquatic Centre to set up a time to have your child’s swim level skills evaluated.
ARRIVING AT YOUR LESSON
Have your child changed and ready three minutes before class start time and then head out to the deck area and wait by the wooden bench. Please note that if a swim lesson is missed by the swimmer, there is no makeup or credits for that class.
Questions or concerns about your child’s lessons should be brought to the lesson supervisor as quickly as possible.
HOT TUB USAGE
Children are not to go into the hot tub prior to their lesson.
Sometimes you just gotta swim! There are a number of activities happening at the pool for all ages – whether you are wanting to take just a leisurely swim or take a class that is more structured. Click here for a list of drop-in rates and the public swimming times.
Aquafit classes are offered in the morning or afternoon, with some classes offering supervised play (supervised swim is for kids over 3 years of age) so your kids can splash around while you take some well-deserved time for yourself!

The Aquatic Centre offers many programs for all ages and they are lead with skilled and educated instruction.
Pre-School Lessons (Age 4 months - 6 years)
Parent & Tot
Age 4 months - 2 years
Starfish/Duck is an orientation to the water for babies and their parents/guardians. Babies must be able to hold their head up in order to participate. The goal is to help them experience the water and start understanding how to move, float and blow bubbles, as well as instructs parents/guardians on how to be safe around water.
Age 2 - 3 years
This level is to help wean the toddler from the parent/ guardian so they become more independent with an instructor. They will work on blowing bubbles, floats, kicks and help the toddlers know how to be safe around water.
On My Own
Age 3 - 6 years
At this level, our swimmers work on becoming comfortable in the water while doing floats, glides and starting to swim one metre, as well as feeling comfortable with their faces in the water blowing bubbles. Children will also learn to make sure it is safe and have adult supervision before entering the water. The instructor will evaluate based on the child need of minimal assistance from the instructor or flotation devices.
Age 3 - 6 years
Building on the Sea Otter skills, swimmers will work on swimming two metres, rollover glides, jumping into chest-deep water, treading for five-seconds and learning more about Lifejackets and Personal Flotation Devices.
Age 3 - 6 years
Building on Salamander skills, swimmers will work on swimming five-metres, learning how to move in the water by changing directions and weight transfer, more deep water skills will be added and side glides will be introduced.
Age 3 - 6 years
Building on Sunfish skills, swimmers will work on swimming five-metres and ten-metres on front and back, treading water up to 20-seconds, start sitting dives and basic water rescue.
School Aged Lessons (Age 5 - 13 years)
This is an orientation to the water working on being comfortable with having body submerged and able to blow bubbles. Swimmers work on front and back glides and swimming five metres.
Swimmers will work on swimming up to 10 metres, deep-water activities, and learning how to call 9-1-1. Focus will be placed on front, back and side glides in order to get a strong rollover glide.
wimmers will work on swimming up to 15 metres. Deep-water skills are introduced such as floats, changing direction, and surface support for 20 seconds. Working on a front to side glide combination will start to prepare the swimmer for front crawl.
Swimmers will work on swimming up to 25 metres. Build on the side glide combos to start front crawl, dives. Also back crawls and shoulder rolls start.
Swimmers will work on swimming up to 50 metres. Stride dives, disorienting entrees, whip kick and sculling are introduced.
Swimmers will work on swimming up to 75 metres. Elementary back stroke, dolphin kick, and head-first sculling are introduced.
Swimmers will work on swimming up to 150 metres. Stride entry and water safety skills, front sculling, and front whip kick will be introduced. Front and back crawl are for 50 metres.
Swimmers will work on swimming up to 300 metres. Eggbeater while treading water, feet-first surface dive, breast stroke and rescue breathing will be introduced.
Swimmers will work on swimming up to 400 metres. Head-first dives, complications with rescue breathing, boating regulation and sidestroke are introduced.
Swimmers will work on swimming up to 500 metres. Technique will be the main focus for all the strokes. Vertical dolphin kick, sun smart and ice rescues will be introduced.
Teen & Adult Lessons (Age 13+ years)
This lesson is designed to help participants become comfortable in the water. The focus is about the bodies center of buoyance, how to control breathing and the basics for building strokes.
Advanced Certification (Age 8+ years)
Age 13+ years
Gain the understanding of the lifesaving principles embodied in the four components of water rescue education: judgement, knowledge, skill and fitness. Rescuers learn tows, carries, and defence and release methods in preparation for Bronze Cross.
Age 16+ years
This program builds on the fundamental skills, knowledge and values taught in the prerequisite Lifesaving Society lifesaving certifications. Recognized as the standard for lifeguards in Canada, this training develops a sound understanding of lifeguarding principles, good judgement and a mature and responsible attitude toward the role of the lifeguard.
Age 8 - 15 years
The Junior Lifeguard Club is for youth who are able to swim at least 25m, level 4 or equivalent This program is designed to let kids participate in activities similar to those of real lifeguards in a safe, fun, controlled setting.
Age 11 - 15 years
Receive basic first aid and caregiving skills to prepare yourself to care for younger children. Also, learn how to prevent and respond to emergencies. Course also offers training to promote yourself to prospective parents to baby sit their children.
Aquatic's Other Programming

Is your child ready to stay home alone? Kidproof At Home Alone training is designed to give children the tools and knowledge to look after themselves while at home unsupervised for short periods of time. This program is recommended for kids 10 - 13 years of age and is not a certified course.

Pool Party Rentals
Having a birthday, a graduation party, or some other special occasion? Consider renting the pool for your celebration!
Have a pool party anytime of the year. The Aquatic Centre pool is a great place to think about having your next birthday party, team windup, family reunion and any other reason you want to get together for a party. See scheduled time and rental options below.
When you add it all up, it’s an affordable and convenient way to celebrate your next fun event:
- Year-round pool rental times slotted on Saturdays and Sundays from 3 - 5 p.m.
- Additional time slotted during the summer months on Fridays from 4 - 5 p.m.
- One-hour pool rental is $99.75
- Two-hour rental includes the pool and your choice of the party room or the patio for $105
- Two-hour Party Package includes a Party Leader during the one hour pool time for an additional $40
- Extend the party room or patio time for $28 per hour
- The barbecue can also be rented for a $25 flat rate
Conveniently located behind the Innisfail Aquatic Centre, the park is open free of charge during the summer months.
