Transportation Options

Innisfail Handi-Van

Innisfail has a community handi-van that provides local service for seniors in the Innisfail area. The van operates Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and has a disabled lift facility.

Cost:
Service is by appointment only and the in-town rate is $4 each way.

Bookings to Red Deer, Sylvan Lake and Olds are $40, including return trip, and bookings to Penhold and Bowden are $25, including return trip.
The rate for all other trips is 45 cents per kilometre.

Innisfail Community Bus

Take advantage of a valuable community transportation resource available for charter and regular monthly shopping trips to Red Deer.

Regularly Scheduled Community Bus Trips

The Innisfail and District Community Bus offers a shopping mall service to Red Deer on the first Wednesday of every month.

Fees: $10 including return trip.

Pickup Locations:

Autumn Glen Lodge (4035 50 Ave.)

Prearranged pickups are available from Dodds Lake Manor, Sunset Manor and the Centex Service Station in Penhold by telephone appointment only.

The pickup time at the malls in Red Deer is roughly 3 p.m. with a return time to Innisfail of roughly 3:30 p.m.


PLEASE NOTE: The Community Bus run to Red Deer scheduled for Wednesday, July 1 has been rescheduled to Wednesday, July 8 due to the Canada Day holiday.

Bus

The Community Bus can also be chartered for trips anywhere within Alberta by individuals, sports teams, local organizations, church groups and businesses. The local charter rate is $1.80 per kilometre (that rate will increase to $2 per kilometre effective Sept. 1, 2015) and this includes three hours of driver standby time. The non-local charter rate is $2 per kilometre (that rate will increase to $2.20 per kilometre effective Sept. 1, 2015) and this includes three hours of driver standby time. Charters are booked on a first-come, first-served basis so anyone wishing to use the bus is asked to book early.
