Innisfail town council on Monday made use of surplus funding to boost a number of previously underfunded projects.
The town’s 2016 surplus of $460,190 was added to general capital reserve in February. It will now be allocated as follows:
|Skatepark Project Reserve||$50,000|
|Fire Equipment Reserve||$50,000|
|Bylaw Equipment Reserve||$5,000|
|Roads Equipment Reserve||$50,000|
|Solar equipment for Admin Building||$50,000|
|Ball Diamonds Annual Maintanence||$100,000|
Each of the aforementioned projects received less funding than requested in the 2017 municipal budget. The allocation of the surplus, for the most part, brings them all to their
original requested amounts.
The remaining funding will stay in general capital reserve, with further projects and initiatives being considered on a case-by-case basis.
