The following are highlights from the regular meeting of the council on June 25, 2018:

Delegation - Cottonwood Kayak Club

Council supported the Cottonwood Kayak Club to host the Canadian National Canoe Polo Championships to take place at Dodd's Lake on August 24-26. A formal request to be submitted by the Club.

RFD - Sale of Southwest Commercial Property

Council approved entering into a Real Estate Purchase Contract for a portion of Plan 912 2022, Lot A for the sale, design and development of 1.215 hectares of commercial lands (SW Commercial Area) for a purchase price of $755,000 and in substantial accordance with the Draft Agreement.

RFD - Skatepark Project

Council approved moving forward with the Skatepark Project detailed design and costing on the Aquatic Centre site, and administration to meet with the lnnisfail Horseshoe Association to consider site relocation options.

RFD - Dino Centre

Dinos Centre has worked with Alberta Transportation to have blue tourism signs along Highways 2 and 54. Council approved the sign application and placement along 42nd Avenue on the Town of lnnisfail Right of Way.

RFD - Bylaw 1470-A54 to Amend the Land Use Bylaw - Cannabis Legislation

Council accepted the first reading of the amended bylaw. Second reading will take place at the public hearing on July 23, 2018.

RFD - Bylaw 1614-2018 to Amend the Community Standards Bylaw - Cannabis and Tobacco Consumption

Council accepted the first reading of the amended bylaw. Second reading will take place at the public hearing on July 23, 2018.

RFD - Tree Bylaw 1603-2018

Council approved the first reading of the proposed bylaw.

RFD - Bylaw 1613-2018 to Amend the Traffic Bylaw

Council tabled the decision to amend the bylaw until the Tree Bylaw is addressed.

Appointment of Deputy Directors of Emergency Management

Council approved the appointment of Rod Fraser Director of Operations, and Clark Maldaner Assistant Chief with the Towns Fire Department as Deputy Directors of Emergency Management for the Town of lnnisfail.

RFD - Replacement of Rescue Pumper

Approve the purchase of the RosenBauer Rescue Pumper from Rocky Mountain Phoenix for $638,130.00 funded by the trade in of the Engine truck valued at $75,000 and $563,130.00 from Fire Reserve.
