VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, Oct. 20, 2015: With many Central Alberta communities already having or planning new skateparks, the town has finally made it a top priority to have one of its own.

At council’s Oct. 13 meeting, establishing a committee for a new skatepark was listed as one of five immediate council priorities as it heads into budget season for the 2016 fiscal year.

VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, Oct. 20, 2015: For a few moments Sylvia Mathon could only stand motionless as the large audience in attendance at the 2015 Community Awards stood and gave her a standing ovation.

Mathon, 62, is the town’s citizen of the year for 2015.

 VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, Tuesday, May 19: Summer is coming and the ice skates have been packed away but there is a new thrill in place at the Innisfail Arena.

Public roller skating started on May 6, and it is a leisure activity and sport town officials hope will soon catch on with kids and even adults.
