 VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, Tuesday, May 19: Summer is coming and the ice skates have been packed away but there is a new thrill in place at the Innisfail Arena.

Public roller skating started on May 6, and it is a leisure activity and sport town officials hope will soon catch on with kids and even adults.

VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, May 5, 2015: Hello and welcome to a wonderful spring in Innisfail. We’re lucky as we have no major road construction projects this year and therefore no roadblocks and detours to deal with.

The Downtown project has a few minor landscaping items to finish off and it will be good for another 50 years or so.

VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, May 5, 2015: A major residential development proposal for the town’s far west side is expected to clear another hurdle at town council next week.

Council will be asked to approve amendments to the town’s Municipal Development Plan, the Henday Ridge Area Structure Plan and the Land Use Bylaw that will allow a proposed 659-unit residential development, which includes a commercial component, to move forward.
