Large item pickup starts in May. Residents may place up to three eligible items out at the curb at the front of their residence for pickup by the Town.


Large item pickup will be offered once per pickup zone. Items must be out before 7 a.m. and items will only be picked up from the front curb. Pickup zones are as follows;


If your regular garbage day is Wednesday, your large item pick day will be on May 1, 2017.
If your regular garbage day is Tuesday, your large item pick day will be on May 8, 2017.
If your regular garbage day is Friday, your large item pick day will be on May 15, 2017.
If your regular garbage day is Thursday, your large item pick day will be on (Tuesday) May 23, 2017.

If you live in Westwood court, your large item pick day will be on May 1, 2017.

Items that are eligible for pick up is limited to items that the average resident may have difficulty moving on their own to the waste transfer station.

This includes items such as: 

  • large visual display devices (greater than 30 inch screen size)
  • stoves and barbecues
  • dishwashers
  • clothes washers and dryers
  • large furniture items like sofas, tables, recliners, mattresses and box springs
  • snowblowers, lawn mowers and similar small equipment


Items that will not be accepted include:

  • refrigerators and freezers and any other appliance containing freon
  • yard waste
  • construction waste and debris
  • scrap steel and metal
  • automobile parts
  • liquids of any type


Smaller items that can be transported individually or in a container are not eligible for large item pick-up. These items can be placed in the regular weekly curb side pick up or transported to the waste transfer station by the resident. There is a maximum of 3 items per household.

Volunteers Needed!

The Town of Innisfail is looking for some strong hands to assist seniors/individuals with getting larger items our of their house for large item pickup. Volunteers will need to be able to lift larger items such as a couch or washing machine and transport it to the curb.
