VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, June 16, 2015: Town council has taken the first step to borrow $1.375 million to fund the construction of a lift station and force main to service the massive new private residential development approved for the Woodlands area.

Due to construction, 48 Avenue is closed between 46 and 45 streets and the lane running between 49 and 48 avenues between 46 and 45 streets is closed.

These closures are in place until July 15, 2015.

The show begins at 10:30 p.m. (or dusk) at the Innisfail Twin Arenas. Bring a lawn chair and snacks!

DELEGATIONS

  • Newly elected Innisfail-Sylvan Lake MLA Don MacIntyre appeared before Council and said the new provincial government will table a mini-budget this summer. He asked Council to pass on any issues to him that they wanted to see addressed by the government. He also fielded questions from Council about grants, funding for the Autumn Glen Lodge and the prospects of an increased minimum wage.
