VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, Oct. 27, 2015: Despite a red Grit wave that swept across the country last week, Conservative candidate and incumbent Earl Dreeshen was one of 99 Conservative members of Parliament elected in the 2015 federal election.

As numbers rolled in on Oct. 19, a crowd of supporters cheered loudly as Dreeshen was officially declared victorious in the riding of Red Deer-Mountain View with 74 per cent of the vote.

VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, Oct. 20, 2015: The ribbon has been cut on the new sewer pipeline in Central Alberta.

The new South Red Deer Regional Wastewater System (SRDRWS) pipeline, which took nine years to complete and cost almost $140 million, was officially opened in a ceremony at the Penhold lift station on Oct. 16.

VIA THE INNISFAIL PROVINCE, Oct. 20, 2015: With many Central Alberta communities already having or planning new skateparks, the town has finally made it a top priority to have one of its own.

At council’s Oct. 13 meeting, establishing a committee for a new skatepark was listed as one of five immediate council priorities as it heads into budget season for the 2016 fiscal year.
