Comfortably located, all sessions are held locally at the Library Learning Centre Community Room (5300 55 St Close).
Yoga is an activity that provides overall wellness – physically, emotionally, and mentally. Through regular practice, yoga can increase flexibility, strength, and the range of motion to the body. There are a variety of different techniques and focuses in yoga; however, all include postures and movement, breath and body awareness, and a meditative focus.
Benefits of Yoga for Seniors
Yoga can be a wonderful form of activity for seniors. As we get older, muscles tend to stiffen, joints lose their range of motion and chronic problems such as osteoporosis, arthritis and heart disease become a greater risk. Yoga can help slow down the process of ageing by maintaining muscle elasticity and flexibility, reduce the swelling of joints while strengthening the muscles, engagement of the mind for alertness and wakefulness, as well as increase overall mobility, balance and stability. The following is a short list of benefits (when practiced regularly, 2 -3 times/week):

Do you need flexibility not only for your body but also with your busy schedule? Then choose a convenient Yoga Punch Pass card – available for purchase at the Town Office.
The six punch pass is only $90 and allows you access to all yoga classes from the start to the end dates in the yoga classes listed above. Choose either discipline with over 50 classes to choose from!
