The Town of Innisfail contracts its solid waste collection services to Waste Management Services.
The Waste Transfer Station is located 1 block south of the Arena, on 37th Street.

Hours of Operation
Wednesdays - 9.00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Saturdays - 9.00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The Waste Transfer Station is available for disposal of recyclable items, household garbage, yard waste / compostable material, refrigeration units, and building materials. Transfer Station Fees will apply to all disposals.
Residential Garbage Pickup
The Town of Innisfail has a three bag limit on household garbage. Residents can purchase an extra bag sticker at the Town Office for $1.00, for each bag exceeding the limit. Extra bags that are not displaying this sticker will not be picked up.
Please have your garbage out by 7:00 am on your scheduled pickup day.

The Town of Innisfail offers household recycling (Green Box) pick-up. The town provides one Green Box per household however additional recycling can be placed in a marked rubbermaid bin or cardboard box.
Recycling is picked up on the same day as your garbage. Please have your recycling out by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day.
Recycling Electronic Devices: Electronic devices - such as computers and television sets - can be brought to the Waste Transfers Station during regular hours to be recycled free of charge.

RV Sani-Dump Information
The Innisfail RV Sani-Dump opens for the season on the May long weekend through to September. Located by the Tourist Information Booth (5202 50 St.), token's for the sanitary dumping stations are available for purchase ($5 ea.) at the Tourist Booth, Town Office, and at the Anthony Henday Campground. Credit cards are also accepted at the station kiosk.

Yard Waste Pick-Up: Last Day Oct. 16, 2017
Beginning in April or May and continuing until October each year, yard waste for the entire town is picked up every Monday, at regular household garbage pickup locations (curbside or back alley).
What is accepted as yard waste?
Grass clippings, bedding plants, weeds, and leaves are acceptable items for pick up.
Tree branches and shrub trimmings are acceptable when bundled in 4' lengths or less. These bundles must be tied.
Yard waste must be placed in biodegradable bags or in re-usable containers clearly marked "Yard Waste" by 7:00 am on Mondays. No plastic bags will be accepted. Yard waste containers must not exceed 50lbs (23 kg). Overweight containers will not be accepted.
Tree branches and other yard waste can also be dropped off at the Waste Transfer Station during regular operating hours. Regular Transfer Station fees apply.
Large Item Pick-Up: May
Large item pickup usually occures in May. Residents may place up to three eligible items out at the curb at the front of their residence for pick-up by the Town.
Large item pickup will be offered once per pickup zone with items to be out before 7 a.m. Items will only be picked up from the front curb.
Eligible items for pick up are limited to items that the average resident may have difficulty moving on their own to the waste transfer station. This includes items such as:
- large visual display devices (greater than 30 inch screen size)
- stoves and barbecues
- clothes washers and dryers
- large furniture items like sofas, tables, recliners, mattresses and box springs
- snowblowers, lawn mowers and similar small equipment
Items that will not be accepted include:
- refrigerators and freezers and any other appliance containing freon
- yard waste
- construction waste and debris
- scrap steel and metal
- automobile parts
- liquids of any type
Smaller items that can be transported individually or in a container are not eligible for large item pick-up. These items can be placed in the regular weekly curb side pick-up or transported to the waste transfer station by the resident.
Hazardous Waste Round-Up: May
One Hazardous Waste Round-Up occurs in Innisfail in the spring of each year. Watch our News section in the spring for an announcement and details. For more information, call the Town Office at 403-227-3376.
This years Hazardous Waste Round-Up was held on May 7, 2016. Thank you to everyone who participated, and helped out with this years event.
Automated Garbage Collection: For Consideration
Automated garbage collection is being proposed for the Town of Innisfail. On September 14,2017 an open house was held at the Library Learning Centre to provide residents information about this form of waste collection, as well as an opportunity to ask questions and provide feedback.
An online survey, which was open until the end of the September, was created to gather input from the community about what this new technology. The survey is now closed. We would like to thank everyone for their participation.
