Sitting on a board or committee allows you to gain valuable experience as part of a collaborative team of citizens while giving back to the community.
The following boards and committees have openings for community members:
Community Services Standing Committee (4 vacancies, 2-year term)
The Community Services Standing Committee is intended to enhance and strengthen the quality of life for all citizens in Innisfail and area. The Committee provides a broad community perspective on issues affecting service areas such as community & business revitalization, recreation and culture facilities, recreation programming and development, special events, and community support services (among others). The committee acts in an advisory capacity and provides recommendations to Council for decision.
The Committee meets on the third Tuesday of every month at 5:00 p.m.
Family & Community Support Services (1 vacancy, 2-year term)
The FCSS Board meets at least four times a year to allocate provincial funding to a variety of programs assisting with preventive social services that support and enhance the lives of Innisfail residents. Members are asked to serve for two-year terms.
Policing & Safe Community Committee (1 vacancy, 2-year term)
This committee meets a minimum of six times per year to act as a liaison between Town Council, the RCMP detachment, Community Peace Officers and the citizens of Innisfail to foster the creation of a safe, secure community.
The Town is also recruiting Youth/Student representatives (High school or Post-secondary student) for the following:
