Innisfail Town Council will engage an external party to conduct a forthcoming Code of Conduct investigation. The move to do so was initiated by Council in October with the intent of assessing a series of matters pertaining to the Town’s Code of Conduct Bylaw (1612-2018).
On Nov. 23, Council resolved to appoint Sage Analytics Inc. to conduct the review. Doing so will ensure a fair and unbiased assessment as to whether any contravention of the Bylaw has occurred.
The Code of Conduct Bylaw provides that “All proceedings of the Investigator regarding the investigation shall be confidential.”
At the conclusion of the proceedings, Council will determine the level of information that is permitted to be released as regulated by the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIPP) Act.
