In early 2022, Innisfail RCMP identified in-person community engagement as a strategic priority for this year.
Now, in collaboration with the Town of Innisfail’s Fire & Protective Services Department, the Innisfail RCMP will host a public engagement event on the evening of Tuesday, November 15.
This is the second community engagement jointly hosted by the Town and the RCMP. Along with updates on local policing efforts in the community, a representative from the National Police Federation will also provide a presentation on the Government of Alberta’s proposed provincial police service.
“These meetings are an excellent opportunity for people to let us know their concerns. It also gives us a chance to identify potential issues that have not been brought to our attention,” said Gary Leith, Manager of Fire & Protective Services for the Town of Innisfail.
The event will provide valuable information for the audience as well.
“This event will give people a chance to learn about the government’s proposed changes to police services in the province,” added Sgt. Ian Ihme, Acting Detachment Commander of the Innisfail RCMP.
