The Markerville Creamery Museum is a glimpse into the past of this scenic Icelandic settlement. Built in 1902 and restored to its 1932 appearance, the Creamery remains the “Hub” of this tiny community.

Costumed interpreters offer guided tours during the spring and summer season. Visitors also enjoy the “Kaffistofa” coffee shop featuring Icelandic food and great tasting ice cream.

Double Tree Village Museum

“Step Back In Time” and enjoy one of the largest historic villages in Alberta. Our U-shaped street includes 25 buildings of the early 1900’s, everything from a church, to a tepee, and everything in between, including a picnic area.

We have been honoured to win a Heritage award and a beautification award from the Red Deer County for our excellent variety of flowers and area artifacts. A beautiful Belgian team of horses can take you on a hay ride out to Hidden Lake to view the birds, wildlife, and wildflowers of the area. Everyone is welcome including families, groups, and schools.
