With a strong early start to the reopening of the Innisfail Arena, the Town is pleased to advance further relaxations at the facility in the days and weeks to come.
Monday, September 21 — Limited Spectators Allowed
Effective Monday, Sept. 21, one parent/guardian per participant will be allowed in the facility as a spectator for the duration of an activity. Spacing markers will be visible to establish safe designated standing/seating areas. In alignment with provincial guidelines, cheering and yelling will be discouraged, and mask use by spectators will be recommended (Guidance for Sport, Physical Activity & Recreation — Stage 2, Government of Alberta). Upon entering the facility, parents/guardians should expect to undergo the same COVID-19 screening as participants.
Monday, September 28 — Dressing Room Use Resumes
Effective Monday, Sept. 28, use of the facility’s dressing rooms will resume with some restrictions in place. In continuing to limit the overall amount of time spent in the facility, participants will still be required to arrive dressed and ready to participate. An appropriate number of dressing rooms will be allocated to each group/team based on its number of participants. Mask use in rooms will be encouraged.
The Town recognizes the challenging nature of the current circumstances, and greatly appreciates the cooperation of Arena patrons in working toward the facility’s safe and gradual reopening. It is reminded, however, that activity risking the health and safety of participants, spectators, staff or the public could lead to restrictions being reinstated. Further updates on the matter will be provided as they become available.
