Congratulations to Olivia Bergeron for being this year’s recipient of the Leaders of Tomorrow Award!
She is about to graduate from Innisfail High School but before she moves on to her next academic step, we want to recognize her for the impact has already made on our community as a young leader.
Olivia is a regular volunteer. She has been a part of the Innisfail Lantern Festival and the Harvest Festival – helping our community celebrate together. She has also been a part of the Town’s Green and Clean Challenge which sees participants make things a little cleaner during Innisfail’s annual community clean-up.
She is a leader at the Innisfail High School. She represented her school as part of the Students Matter Committee. This was a committee made up of students from different schools within the Chinook’s Edge School Division to speak up about their experience and provide perspective to decision-makers.
She was an MC at the 2022 Innisfail High School Graduation Ceremonies – a role that had her practicing public speaking abilities in front of a packed auditorium of people.
Her leadership continues outside of school. She has been a part of the Hurricanes Water Polo team for nearly a decade. She has taken a mentor role within the club; beginning as a junior coach in 2018, progressing to assistant coach in 2020 and all the way to becoming a head coach in 2021. Her attitude and enthusiasm shine through when she works as a coach. She imparts her knowledge and positive influence on young athletes to help them progress and develop their own skills.
For these efforts, we are proud to present Olivia with the Leaders of Tomorrow Award and wish her all the best on her journey!
