The following are highlights from the February 8, 2021 Regular Meeting of Council.
CAO Report – COVID-19 Recovery Plan Update
CAO Todd Becker provided Council with an update on the Town’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan, which was approved by Council in May of 2020. While recovery efforts are ongoing, the update provided an overview of all the current and completed actions taken by Administration related COVID-19, offering a look at the progress that’s been achieved as of February 2021. Council accepted the update as information.
CAO Report – Policing & Safe Community Committee: 2021 Public Engagement Plan
Administration presented Council with a detailed public engagement plan for the Policing & Safe Community Committee, to be carried out over the course of 2021. The plan contains key engagement activities and dates, and is intended to provide the community with greater awareness of the committee, its functions, and its actions. Council approved the plan as presented.
Energy Management Update – Investment-Grade Energy Audits
ln 2020, the Town took part in a pilot project which produced a preliminary energy audit report identifying potential capital upgrades which could achieve greater energy efficiency in Town-owned facilities. At Monday’s meeting, Administration proposed the completion of investment-grade audits at a cost of $28,000 to be funded from the 2020 contingency. Administration identified that the possibility exists to include this cost in the future implementation of related energy-saving projects. Council approved proceeding with the audits and approved their associated costs as presented.
