In June, Innisfail Town Council officially moved meeting start times from 6:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. for a trial period of two months. At the August 24 meeting, Council agreed to extend the trial period for a further three months to ensure any issues arising from the change can be properly identified.
The intent of this change, among other considerations, was to allow presenting delegations and the general public to attend meetings during regular business hours. It was also hoped that members of the public with families involved in extra-curricular activities would find the earlier meeting times more favorable.
Attendance at Regular Meetings of Council has remained relatively unchanged.
This move affects both the Regular Meetings of Council and the Agendas & Priorities Meetings.
