Following the March 9, 2020 council meeting Councillor Doug Bos presented his letter of resignation to Town of Innisfail Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Todd Becker.
According to the Municipal Government Act (161.1) the resignation of a councillor must be submitted in writing and given to the CAO. It is effective immediately on the date it is received.
In his letter, Councillor Bos cited wanting to dedicate more time to his business as the reason for his decision, especially in light of recent economic developments.
Mayor Jim Romane, on behalf of Innisfail Town Council, thanks Councillor Bos for his service to the community and wishes him well in all his future endeavours. During his time as a councillor, Bos has proven himself to be a hard-working and dedicated individual who always kept in mind the best interests of his fellow citizens.
“Councillor Bos’s input will be missed,” said Romane. “His contributions to Council’s discussions were always based on his interest in seeing Innisfail prosper.”
It is anticipated that Council will be discussing Bos’s departure and will develop a plan to move forward at an upcoming meeting.
