Garbage & Recycling
The Town’s waste contractor provides automated collection of garbage, recycling, and organics. To see your scheduled collection day, view the Waste Collection map
Garbage
The Town of Innisfail provides weekly garbage collection for all households in the community. Garbage can be placed in the black cart assigned to residential addresses. If a single cart is insufficient for a residence’s needs, an additional cart(s) can be obtained for a fee. Please have your garbage out by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day.
Cart wheels should be placed at the curb with the cart facing towards the road. Carts should be placed at least 1 metre (3 feet) from each other and from any other obstruction. The weight capacity of the cart cannot exceed 75 lbs to prevent damage to your cart and the mechanical components of collection trucks.

Recycling
Changes are coming to your recycling starting October 1, 2026.
Collection is done weekly with garbage and organics carts. Please have your recycling cart out by 7:00 a.m. on your scheduled pickup day.

Expanded Electronics Recycling
The Town of Innisfail waste transfer station, through the Alberta Recycling Management Authority’s 2020-22 Electronics Expansion Pilot Project, is now able to accept more of your electronic items for recycling!
The electronics recycling pilot is a two-year project that will expand the scope of electronic products Albertans can recycle without adding new consumer fees. It will be operated by the Alberta Recycling Management Authority (ARMA) and will inform how government can advance electronics recycling in the future.
Items can be dropped at the Town of Innisfail’s waste transfer station. More information is available at the Recycling Alberta website.
