The Town offers various grants and funding for community organizations, businesses and individuals who meet certain criteria. Take a look at the programs below to find out if you qualify.

The Residential Infill Incentive Program is intended to promote the redevelopment of existing residential properties with the aim of increasing the diversity of options available to potential real estate buyers. Developers will be able to apply for potential reimbursement of $10,000 to $25,000 for each approved project. The program is comprised of a non-repayable grant to offset fees, levies and costs associated with redevelopment and reconstruction projects. Grants will be awarded for projects that see the creation or replacement of a residential building(s) on a property. Any development containing one or more dwelling unit as defined in the Land Use Bylaw – including but not limited to secondary suites, detached dwellings, duplexes, stacked rowhouses, and apartments – may qualify.
Eligible program costs can include:
- Development and Safety Codes permit fees;
- Offsite levies;
- Preparation of engineering studies, such as grading, drainage or geotechnical reports required to complete the project (at the discretion of the CAO);
- Hazardous materials survey and abatement;
- Installation or replacement of water and wastewater service connections, including excavation and water meter(s);
- Repair or replacement of sidewalk or roadway asphalt resulting from service installation.

StoreFront
You could receive up to $7,500 toward esthetic improvements to your storefront.
The Town’s Façade and Storefront Improvement Program is a financial assistance initiative aimed at helping business owners increase their street appeal through visual upgrades to their storefronts. Through the program, businesses meeting a Council-approved set of criteria may be eligible for a reimbursement of up to 50 per cent (to a maximum of $7,500) toward façade and storefront upgrades.
Sounds great! But is my business eligible? Should I apply?
Absolutely! If you’re planning on carrying out any of the following types of work to your business’s façade or storefront, read on for more information:
- Restoration of paint and other exterior finishes
- Repair/replacement of doors, windows and doorways
- Installation of awnings, canopies, sign bands and lighting
- Fitting of new architectural details (entranceways, base trim, cornices, corner accents, etc.)
- Addition of patio areas and landscaping elements
Or…
- Any other type of work that’s deemed to be in line with the program’s objectives!
Since its inception, the program has awarded tens of thousands of dollars to local businesses whose resulting upgrades have helped contribute to a healthy and vibrant commercial environment. The addition of characteristic features has also benefited shoppers, who now spend more time perusing all that the Town’s commercial sector has to offer.
Town staff are on hand to guide you through the application process, which begins by filling out a paper form at the Town Office. After that, a Review Committee looks at applications on a case-by-case basis, requesting additional information or revisions as needed.
To assist in the process, the Town also provides a limited number of referral appointments with a professional designer, who provides applicants with advice and recommendations.

The Innisfail FCSS Grant supports preventive programs and services that enhance the social well-being of individuals, families, and the community. Through a partnership between the Province of Alberta and the Town of Innisfail, FCSS funding is available to organizations delivering programs in Innisfail that align with provincial prevention priorities and use prevention strategies to promote community engagement, foster belonging and social inclusion, strengthen healthy relationships, enhance access to social supports, and build individual and community resilience.
Please carefully review the grant application and accompanying application guide to determine program eligibility and ensure all requirements are met prior to submission.
The deadline for FCSS Funding is Friday, February 27, 2026, at 4:30 pm.

The Community Benefit Grant is available to groups such as local registered charities, not-for-profit societies, organizations & associations, and schools. Applications for grants of up to $10,000 are being accepted until March 1 for projects, events or initiatives related to the promotion of:
- Environmental Awareness & Enhancement
- Social & Community Welfare
- Arts & Culture
- Education & Science
- Emergency Relief
Projects could include:
- Capital projects or equipment for the enhancement of community facilities
- Community events
- Art or education programs

Community Benefit Fund Application Form
Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2026.
The purpose of the Sport Tourism Grant is to provide financial support to sporting events hosted in the community that generate economic, social, cultural, and sustainability benefits. By supporting sport tourism, the Town seeks to attract visitors, foster community engagement, and promote Innisfail as a destination for regional, national, and international sporting events.
The following event categories may be eligible for a Sport Tourism Grant:
- Development Sports – a sport that is new to Innisfail, an event that is growing in recognition and or a local sport organization that is new to hosting and is working to build capacity towards hosting higher profile events in the future
- Nontraditional or Emerging Sport – a sport without a formal governing body or structure, these are sports outside of the mainstream sports
- Provincial, Western, National or International Sports
- Multi-Sport Games – Competitive events that include multiple sports, often held at a provincial, national, or international level, such as provincial or international games.

The purpose of the Recreation, Culture, and Tourism Grant is to provide eligible community groups and organizations with funding to support events and projects taking place within the Town of Innisfail that:
- Create a vibrant community and drive recreation, culture and tourism.
- Focus on arts, culture, heritage, community wellness, recreation, and leisure.
- Create partnerships within the community.
- Increase economic impact in the community.
The first intake of applications for grants up to $2500 are being accepted until May 30, 2026.
The second intake of applications for grants of up to $2,500 will be accepted until September 25, 2026.
Applications that meet the eligibility criteria and include all required information will be forwarded to the Community Services Standing Committee for consideration.

We are no longer accepting applications for 2026. Applications will reopen again in 2027.
The Innisfail Fee Assistance Program has been made possible by the generous contribution of the Innisfail Solar Corporation/Elemental Energy to help local residents experiencing financial hardship gain access to arts, culture, wellness and recreation activities. Up to $200/eligible resident can be utilized annually to support program fees or memberships.
Possible programs include:
- Swimming lessons, passes or membership.
- Drop-in activities or programs such as badminton, volleyball, climbing, basketball, or pickleball.
- PACE Bus passes.
- Registration for sports, dance, yoga, fitness, music, art, or learning or enrichment classes.
Eligibility requirements are outlined in the application.
