In April, Innisfail Town Council proclaimed May 8-12 Economic Development Week to highlight the importance of the community working together towards a common goal – a strong and prosperous local economy.
Developed in 2016 by the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), this week is meant to promote awareness of local programs that stimulate economic growth and, in turn, improve the quality of life in communities everywhere.
In September of last year, the Town and the Community Economic Development Advisory Group hosted a launch event for the ‘Power of Place’ economic development strategy and unveiled the group’s new Innisfail Community Economic Development (Innisfail CED) identity (shown below). Since then, Town Council and Administration have continued to better understand the current economic environment in Innisfail through business visits and other various initiatives to move Innisfail forward.
