Emergency Medical Services (EMS)

Ambulance services within the Town of Innisfail fall under the jurisdiction of the Provincial Government. The Town of Innisfail maintains a helicopter landing site, across the street from the Innisfail Health Care Centre, for use during emergency medical evacuation situations.

On April 1, 2009, governance of ambulance service was transferred from municipalities to Alberta Health Services (AHS). Currently, three ambulance providers (Guardian, Lakeside and Red Deer Emergency Services) have agreements with AHS and continue to provide services.
