2A South Regional Transit Bus (2-year Pilot Project)
Connecting to the people and places that matter to you.
Launched January 14, 2019, the 2A Regional Transit connects residents in Innisfail, Penhold and Springbrook to the City of Red Deer. The project is a collaborative effort between the partner municipalities and the province. The Government of Alberta provided $700,000 in funding from the Rural Transportation Pilot Project program to help launch this transit service.
Anyone interested in trying 2A South Regional Transit is encouraged to take advantage of free rides during the first month of operations from January 14, 2019 to February 8, 2019 with fares priced at $5.00 per one-way trip thereafter (incl. 1 transfer at arrival in Red Deer only). Please note that there is no bus service on statutory holidays.
The 2A South Regional Transit connects with Red Deer Transit at the Bower Mall bus stop. This means residents can connect with multiple Red Deer Transit routes using one main connection. View and download the brochure for more information on bus stop locations, schedules, and fares. For additional information on the bus service, please contact Red Deer Transit at 403-342-8225 or go to their website at www.reddeer.ca/transit.
