In 2019, the Town of Innisfail undertook the study with a focus on the future of recreation, leisure and cultural facilities in the community.
The study — formally titled the Recreation, Leisure, and Cultural Services and Amenities Plan — assessed the current state of recreation and cultural services in the area and identified priorities to ensure the needs of current and future residents are responsibly met. Input from the community was gathered through a survey of residents and community groups while meetings were also held with community stakeholders.
In early 2020, a draft version of the study was shared with the public. Further feedback was collected through the Town’s website and all input received was reviewed by the project team.
The final draft of the plan was accepted as information by Innisfail Town Council at the June 22, 2020 Regular Meeting of Council.
The final version of the plan is now complete and is available for download by clicking here.
A report on the second phase of our community engagement, which took place in the spring of 2020, is available here.
