On Sunday, Nov. 8, a member of the Town of Innisfail’s outside staff was confirmed as having tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution, the Town Office is now closed pending a preplanned procedure to ensure the safety of the facility’s staff, patrons and visitors.
Appropriate measures are currently being taken to ensure the testing and notification of anyone who may have had contact with the affected individual. The Town Office will remain closed until proper cleaning, sanitizing and contact tracing have all taken place.
The nature of the employee’s work is such that close contact with any member of the public is unlikely to have occurred in the process of carrying out his/her duties. The employee is based out of a non-public-facing Town facility, with the majority of his/her work being ‘field-oriented’ in nature.
In instances such as these, the Town continues to effect the provisions of its 2020 Business Continuity Plan, developed earlier this year as a means of ensuring essential Town services remain uninterrupted in the event of a pandemic-related disruption.
The Town thanks you for your patience and understanding in this matter. For updates and information, visit www.innisfail.ca/covid19.
