The Town of Innisfail recognizes the tremendous impact that COVID-19 has had on our community. In response, the Town has developed a careful, considered response to ensure a swift and effective recovery.
In May of this year, Innisfail Town Council adopted three primary areas of focus as the community and organization began the move toward post-pandemic recovery. These three areas are Economic Development Recovery & Relaunch, Town Operations & Service Delivery, and Community & Social Services.
In keeping with our commitment to place our community in a strong economic position both during and after the recovery period, the Town has enlisted the services of ’13 Ways’, an Alberta-based community growth strategist led by Doug Griffiths and Heather Thompson. The Town has also received input and participation from local businesses and community stakeholders. The goal of this endeavour is to develop our economic recovery and enhancement strategy.
Work with 13 Ways has continued over the last few months and is intended to produce a detailed recovery-focused economic development plan, with a robust marketing and communications plan to follow.
These projects, once complete, will allow our community to better respond and adapt to the new economic realities of the post-pandemic world. They will place the Town in a much stronger position to understand and properly promote the community’s many strengths, assets, advantages and opportunities.
Information on this process will be communicated by the Town over the next year as progress continues. Please continue to watch our communication channels for further updates.
